A MakerSpace is built on the idea that everyone is an inventor, and that learning best happens through personal interest and play. The activities provided and the materials available promote problem solving and creative thinking in a non-curricular environment. It promotes STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, & math) concepts.
The Vista is open before schools or upon request. It is located upstairs in room 9200.
There are several technology items available in the MakerSpace and design challenges issued monthly basis for students to participate in.
- Raspberry Pis
- Makey Makey
- Makerbot Mini 3D printers
- Little Bits
- Lego Robotics
- and many more things used to spark creativity
The items are also available to assist the teachers in supporting the curriculum. There are several activities that cover all subject areas that can fit or be modified to fit TEKS so that students can experience play in an interactive and fun learning environment.
