Mrs. Dana McGraw
Hello! My name is Dana McGraw. I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten at The LISD STEM Academy at Donald Elementary! This will be my tenth year of teaching. Before coming to Donald, I taught Kindergarten for 3 years, I spent one year in fifth grade, and I spent three years teaching a self contained special education class in Illinois. Kindergarten is my absolute favorite age and grade to teach! I love to see the pure joy and wonderment that a 5 year old brings to school with him or her every single day! Together we will learn so many things in, what seems like, a short amount of time! I can¹t wait to see your child shine!
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I attended TCU for 1 year before transferring to and graduating with honors from Iowa State University. I earned a Bachelor¹s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading and Special Education. I started my career in a self contained special education class and then I was blessed to stay home for 19 years with our 5 kids. Although I was not in a classroom I never stopped being a teacher whether I was teaching Sunday School, preschool coop classes, homeschooling or just doing homework with my crew. I am happily married (31 years) to my high school sweetheart, Bill. We have lived here in Flower Mound for 17 years and all 5 of our fabulous kids attend or have attended LISD schools. Coulter is 26, Madison is 24, Blake is 22, Makenna 19 and our youngest Merideth is 15. This summer we added a sweet puppy named Molly to our crazy life...never a dull moment at the McGraw's!!
