Mrs. A. Funmi Nwokolo
Hello, my name is Mrs. Funmi Nwokolo (Mrs. "Wone-Ko-Low"). I am a married mother of 3 wonderful children. I love teaching at LHS Harmon, it is truly like a family here.
After graduating from Hampton University with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems, I immediately went to work in Corporate America in Chicago as a Software Developer. I also taught Martial arts as a hobby.
Years later, after moving to Texas, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a full-time teacher; and I have been doing this ever since. It is my Passion, and I love being a teacher.
I hold 3 teaching certifications, including Technology Education 6th-12th, Broadcast Journalism 7th-12th, and Mathematics 4th-8th.
I have taught a variety of courses within the Technology Education bubble, including, Audio Video Productions, Digital & Interactive Media, Graphic design, Animation, Video Game design, Principles of Audio Video technology & Communications, and Computer Applications.
I currently teach Digital and Interactive Media and Broadcast Journalism (Harmon's Broadcasting class- Fighting Farmer TV)
I offer the students an opportunity to learn about technology that they haven't experienced before, including how to edit dynamic videos, make short films, and edit photos. Furthermore, as a part of Fighting Farmer TV, my students get to be a part of a student-led broadcasting team.
I am also the sponsor for the Broadcasting Club, and a co-sponsor for the African American Association (Triple-A) club. I am also the teacher in charge of the Annual Black History Program at Harmon
My Classroom Room number is 804,
