Making it Happen Award is an internationally recognized awards program for educators and leaders in the field of educational technology integration in K-12 schools. The program identifies and rewards educational technology leaders around the world for their commitment and innovation. This year's recipient of the Making it Happen Award is Barbara Brown.

In recognizing the ever changing influences of technology in all aspects of our lives, the Lewisville Independent School District is committed to providing every student with technology related instruction.

The educational process can be supported by the use of technology as both the object of instruction and as a tool for learning without replacing the role and expertise of the teachers. Technology is a necessary tool for instructional delivery at all ability levels throughout the curricular areas in order to maximize communication and thinking skills.

All students must be able to function effectively in an increasingly technological society. Students will understand the ways in which technology is permeating all aspects of society and will be able to meaningfully apply this acquired knowledge.
