Congratulations to Greg Veal, Assistant Superintendent for Technology of the Lewisville ISD
on receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Technology Computer Education Association (TCEA) of the state of Texas. As leader of the Lewisville ISD Technology department, Mr. Veal has worked diligently to expand the technology opportunities of the students and teachers in the district and has led the district to a position of prominence not only in the state of Texas, but also in the nation.
LISD Technology received the Texas state finalist for the national technology team award for the Consortium for School Networking (COSN). COSN is a professional organization for K-12 technology leaders. It recognizes a team and a school district whose impact on technology’s role in transforming learning has been significant. The ideal team consists of the superintendent, chief technologist, chief curriculum leader, teachers, parents, students and others. The final announcement will be at the K-12 School Networking Conference on March 10-12, 2009 |

In recognizing the ever changing influences of technology in all aspects
of our lives, the Lewisville Independent School District is committed to providing every student with technology related instruction.
The educational process can be supported by the use of technology as both the object of instruction and as a tool for learning without
replacing the role and expertise of the teachers. Technology is a necessary tool
for instructional delivery at all ability levels throughout the curricular areas
in order to maximize communication and thinking skills.
All students must be able to function effectively in an increasingly technological society. Students will understand the ways in which
technology is permeating all aspects of society and will be able to meaningfully
apply this acquired knowledge.
