Griffin Middle School Celebrates its Official Ribbon Cutting
Griffin Middle School celebrated its brand new, $43,200,200, state-of-the-art campus with a ribbon cutting ceremony Nov. 17. The event featured performances from Griffin Middle School’s Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, presentation of colors by The Colony High School’s JROTC led by Sergeant First Class Brendan Kelly, and the pledge of allegiance led by Serena Shah, President of the 8th Grade National Junior Honor Society. Lewisville ISD (LISD) Superintendent, Dr. Kevin Rogers; LISD Board of Trustees President, Trisha Sheffield; and Griffin Middle School Principal, Michele Sandefur shared remarks.
Among guests in attendance were LISD Board President Trisha Sheffield; LISD Board Vice President Tracy Scott Miller; LISD Board Secretary Kris Vaughn;LISD Board of Trustees members Angie Cox, Kristi Hassett, Brenda Latham and Kronda Thimesch; LISD Leadership Team members; Steve Griffin, great-grandson of Morris T. Griffin, who the campus is named after; The City of the Colony Mayor Joe McCurry; The City of The Colony Councilmen Kirk Mikulec, Deputy Mayor Pro-tem, and Richard Boyer, Mayor Pro-tem; The City of The Colony representatives Pam Nelson, Blaine Crimmins and Joe Perez; Kevin Fletcher, representative from Senator Jane Nelson’s office; and Griffin Middle School feeder pattern principals, teachers, faculty and parents.
