    Congratulations to 7Eleven Holiday Art Contest Winners: Emma Baer, Colt Calame, Devarghya Chakraborty, Sydney Frigillana, Toni Morris, Winston Morris, Lucas Smith, Alyssa Wong, and Grand Prize Winner - Nathalia Smith!



    Be sure to not miss out on the Liberty Yearbook full of pictures and memories. The book is available for purchase online for just $22.00 at through the end of the month of January and is for those who did not purchase one through the Eagle Fee.

    A reminder that tickets for the 15th Anniversary Gala at the Bridlewood Golf Club on Friday, March 3, are available in the main office only at $75 per person, which covers the cost of a formal plated dinner with beverages, music, and dancing.



    The Belles will perform at the FMHS girls basketball game at the Arena Friday, January 6. Game time is 6:00pm. 

    The Student Council led Pennies for Pasta donations campaign for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be held Monday through Friday, January 9 through 13. Thank you for consideration in supporting your student in this effort.

    The PTA Board will meet next Thursday, January 12, in the workroom starting at 9:00am. The PTA staff luncheon will also be held that day.

    Friday, January 13, will be an opposites spirit day for us where students dress like teachers and vice versa, athletes dress as non-athletes, or any other type of opposite combinations.

    Friday, January 13, is also the end of the second nine weeks grading period so be sure and check with your student for unfinished work prior to then. We will also be on early release schedule with school ending at 11:45am. A copy of the schedule is at the end of this message.

    There will be no school Monday, January 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday and Tuesday, January 17, for staff professional learning. We will return to school Wednesday, January 18.

    We will conduct a CPR/AED drill at school Wednesday, January 18, during the school day.

    Eagle Folders will be distributed Wednesday, January 18, due to not being in school the previous day.

    Mellow Mushroom will be hosting a Liberty Day from 11:00am-10:00pm Wednesday, January 18. Be sure to mention Liberty!

    Our annual Liberty geography bee will be held Thursday, January 19, in the cafeteria starting at 8:00am.

    Third grade is taking a field trip to the Perot Museum from 8:45am to 2:00pm Thursday, January 19.

    The Friday, January 20, spirit day will be an Eagle Day with everyone encouraged to wear Liberty clothing.

    College and Career Awareness Week will run from Monday through Friday, January 23 through 27, culminating with guest speaker assemblies Friday with third, fourth, and fifth grades at 8:15am and Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade at 9:15am.

    The Building Leadership Team will meet Monday, January 23 at 3:30pm in the music room.

    Liberty will host the Flower Mound Feeder Pattern Spelling Bee on Tuesday, January 24, starting at 8:00am.

    The next PTA general meeting is Tuesday, January 24, in the cafeteria starting at 6:30pm and will include a musical performance by first grade.

    PTA provided birthday treats and monthly celebration will be held during the lunch shifts Wednesday, January 25.

    Student Council will meet once again Wednesday, January 25, starting at 3:00pm. Members should wear their student council shirt.

    The next Tea Time with Tim sessions will be Thursday, January 26, 9:00am to 10:30am and 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

    The Friday, January 27, spirit day will be College Day with everyone invited to wear college or university items.



    The annual Texas Education Agency School Report Card for the 2015-2016 school year is now available for viewing on the Liberty homepage. If you are in need of a hard copy please contact the main office.

    Liberty PTA Members are welcomed to provide a recommendation(s) for the PTA Honorary Lifetime Membership Awards. Our Liberty recipients will be recognized by LISD Council PTA at a banquet held in February. These awards recognize an individual who is: *Making or has made a worthwhile contribution to the well-being of children and whose service hours have enriched the learning experience for Liberty Elementary School. *A positive role model showing respect for the entire Liberty Elementary campus including all faculty/staff members, administrators, parents, students etc. If the nominee recommendation is a community leader member, the nominee must have made a significant contribution (not necessarily financial) that has been beneficial to the entire school.
