Wellington is trying to start a Save The Planet Club.
It will be open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders
who would like to do more to encourage a green-friendly school.
To get us all in the Go-Green mindset, we will be making a sculpture out of recycled items.
* Here are the items that can be recycled to use in the sculpture (not necessarily a comprehensive list):
paper (nothing with a student's name/grade/personal information...those will be shredded and thrown away.)
pens
pencils
erasers
markers
metal objects
broken desk accessories
used ink cartridges
discs (erased, shredded, or broken)
plastic bottles (empty if possible)
drink pouches
plastic bags (anything that does NOT contain food)
cardboard
fabric
wood
The question to the students and faculty will be, "Think before you trash it....can it be recycled?". The possibilities are innumerous. We can use things as small as thumbtacks, to items as large as a 2x4 (even larger!). If the teachers have anything they would like to bring in from home that can be recycled, feel free. Creativity is highly encouraged...it will be a work of art, after all!
