Eleven Shadow Ridge Chess Club players competed in the LISD All District Winter Classic Tournament. Four of our players finished in the Top Ten and will have medals and trophies. Tim Suh will compete on January 22, at the School Board meeting for a chance to win a $500 scholarship.
January 14, 2006:
Our students competed in the LISD All District Chess Tournament. Four players reached the finals, and all won medals for SRMS. Congratulations to all.
February is "Learn to Play Chess Month." Students who want help learning to play chess can sign up for private lessons in the library. In March there will be tournaments for all SRMS students.
October 28th, 2005:
The first winner of the Shadow Ridge chess bracket is Ryan Hunter.
The next chess bracket will start Wednesday, Nov. 2.
Jan. 14th is the all-district Chess Tournament at Marcus High School. Registration begins at 6:45 a.m. the morning of the tournament. The entry fee is $3, and the tournament is open to all LISD students. The tournament play begins at 8 am.
