Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is my student allowed to carry over-the-counter and/or prescription medicine?

A: Students are permitted to carry their own prescription medication and/or over-the-counter medicine, as long as it is still in the original packaging (no ziplock baggies, plastic pill containers, etc.) AND is accompanied by a parent note.

Q: What should my student do if they take a daily medication?

A: If a student is on a daily medication, a supply should be provided to the school's nurse to be kept in the Health Office. All narcotics MUST be turned into the nurse (i.e. - pain medicine, cough medicine, insulin, ADHD medication, etc.).

Q: What are some common immunizations required for students?

A: Approximately at the time when a student enters the 9th grade, they are due for a Tetanus booster shot. Please be certain that the student is current on all other immunizations. To see the LISD information page on immunizations, please click here.

Please be certain that the Health Office always has the most current contact information for a student, including home address and phone number, parent or guardian work/cell phone number, and an emergency contact name and phone number.
