How is Night High School (NHS) different from regular
high school?
The NHS motto is "Bringing Hope to Students!" Our purpose is to provide a
quality education outside a normal school day that is fast-paced and
relevant to your life. While enrolled in NHS, you will work closely
with a counselor and your teachers to ensure you are achieving your
goals of earning your high school diploma as well as discovering a
career path of financial success prior to graduation.
Who can attend NHS?
This school is open to any student currently enrolled in The
Colony, Hebron, Marcus, Flower Mound, and Lewisville High Schools.
Former students who dropped out from these high schools may also enroll in the
program. Ages of eligibibility are 16 through 21. There are three groups targeted for enrollement:
- Students who dropped out of a Lewisville ISD school.
- Students coded at-risk according to state guidelines.
- Students who want to recover credit(s) and/or graduate early.
What courses will be offered?
- Algebra I, Geometry, Math Models, Algebra 2
- World Geography, World History, U.S. History, Government, Economics
- English 1, English 2, English 3, English 4
- Biology, Chemistry, Aquatic Science, Integrated
Physics and Chemistry
- Auto Technology
- Cosmetology
- Health Science Technology
- Introduction to Graphic Design and Animation
Dual Credit Courses (courses to earn high school and
college credits) – U.S. History, Government,
Economics, College Algebra, Statistics, Psychology,
Sociology.
When do classes meet?
Classes meet from Monday through Thursday. Courses may be offered from 5:00 to 6:30, 6:35 to 8:05, or 8:10 to 8:55. Each term is four and a half weeks in length. Some courses cover two terms. Refer to the calendar for the exact dates of each term.
