Chess Club
The Roadrunner Chess Club meets Mondays at 3:00 - 3:45

Chess Club is open to all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students

Your chess club teacher mentor is Mr. Bowden

There are 24 members of the chess club with a waiting list for an open seat. Students in grades 2 through 5 are working at their skill level to clarify proper movement and capturing of chessmen, defining check and checkmate, basic strategy for the opening and middle of a chess game. Peer teaching is a component of the club; students who are more familiar with chess concepts are provided opportunity to present advanced concepts to club members.
