Solo and Ensemble Contest

On Saturday, April 5, sixty-four HFMS choir students participated in the district Solo and Ensemble Contest at Lakeview Middle School. Out of sixty-four scores, our Husky singers earned 56 Level 1 scores. Our own Kyle R. was chosen as one of only 10 outstanding soloists in the entire group.

HFMS Band Shines
in Dual Performances

On Friday, April 4, Huffines' Wind Symphony performed at the Majestic Theatre in Dallas. The following day they performed at the Murchison Center on the UNT campus. The band received Division I ratings from every judge - the highest possible.

That's not all! At the Friday contest, Husky band received the "Outstanding Performance" trophy and was named the Most Outstanding Middle School at the festival.

Special section and individual awards were given out at the Murchison contest. Recipients were Flutes, 1st Clarinets, Clarinets, Low Brass, Tubas, and Percussion as well as Kaytee P., Jasmine B., Cassie K., David S., and Cameron M.
