Meet Our Assistant Principal

Mrs. Karen Wright

My name is Karen Wright, and I am thrilled to be the new Assistant Principal at Highland Village Elementary. My professional background includes teaching 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade special and general education. Since 2001, I’ve taught elementary and secondary teacher education courses for the College of Education at the University of North Texas. My educational interests include teacher efficacy, differentiated instruction, and teacher motivation.

I have a wonderful husband, Shawn, of 10 years and am blessed with 2 lovely children, Audrey, 6, and Alec, 4. We live in Highland Village with our two 9-year old English Springer Spaniels, Gracie and Georgette.
