The land where our beautiful school building sits, was donated by its namesake,
Mr. Thomas O. Hicks
Mr.
Hicks was born in Houston, but spent most of his childhood years right
here in the metroplex. By the time he was 13, Mr. Hicks was working in
a radio station that his father had purchased. At age 15, he was a disc
jockey making $20 a week. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School
in Port Arthur, Texas where he lettered in football. Mr. Hicks studied
finance at the University of Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Business
Administration degree. He later went to the University of Southern California,
where he earned a Master of Business Administration degree.
Today,
Mr. Hicks owns over 400 radio stations. He is also Chairman of
the Board and owner of the Dallas Stars hockey team, as well as
the Texas Rangers baseball team. Mr. Hicks also serves on the Board of
Directors
of numerous cooperations.
We
are truly thankful to Mr. Hicks for his most generous gift of this parcel
of land to the Lewisville ISD, where we now have our beautiful school.
