Parent/Student/Teacher Contract

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities:

• Help with homework; create time; check to see if child understands.
• Check and sign assignment book or folder daily.
• Empty and check backpacks daily.
• Establish a daily reading routine.
• Be involved – Join the PTA and volunteer.
• Attend parent conferences.
• Give lots of praise.
• Talk to your child to develop oral language skills.
• Contact teachers first when there are concerns.
• Equip children with necessary materials.
• Support discipline measures.
• Limit T.V. viewing; turn off the T.V.

Student Responsibilities:

• Follow the Bobcat Code.
• Be Respectful
• Be Responsible
• Be Safe
• Be Prepared
• Respect and obey all school staff.
• Always do all of your homework.
• Read good books and magazines.
• Be ready and willing to learn.
• Always have #2 pencils and supplies.
• Ask questions. Get help.
• Go to bed early. Get up on time. Eat a good breakfast.

Staff Responsibilities:

• Meet and communicate with parents at beginning of year and throughout the year.
• Teach children at appropriate levels using a variety of strategies.
• Have high expectations for myself, students and other staff.
• Encourage students to be good citizens.
• Respect each other as individuals.
• Model a love of learning.
• Encourage parents to feel a part of school.

As the educational leader of Hedrick Elementary School I support parent involvement; therefore I will:

• Provide an environment that allows for positive communication between teacher, parent, and student.
• Encourage teachers to regularly provide homework assignments that will reinforce classroom instruction.
