Hedrick Middle School was built in 1973. This summer the building went
through more renovations, including new flooring, painting, and technology
upgrades. Hedrick MS serves as a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade campus with
approximately 800 students.
Teaming is an important aspect of the middle school program
at Hedrick. Each team of teachers focuses on the students within their
group, providing a more caring environment for them and allowing students to
feel safer and more confident. Part of this emphasis is student
recognition, and student on this campus are applauded on a regular basis for
perfect attendance, high academic achievement, and improved academic
accomplishments and behavior. Students receive bumper stickers,
certificates of recognition, and positive notes and phone calls home.
Student have many opportunities to be an active part of
extra-curricular school activities through the band, choir, and athletic
programs, as well as through membership in Chess Club,
National Junior Honor Society, yearbook staff, and Student Council.
