If the text on your screen is too small, or too large for you to comfortably read, do the following.

  1. On the menu bar, click on View|Text Size and choose a size that is right for you.

  2. Remember to highlight the instruction you are on.  When you switch back to your instructions, it will still be highlighted and you won't lose your place as easily.

Brochure Set Up

  1. Start Microsoft Publisher.

  2. On the Catalog dialog, under Wizards, click on Brochures.

  3. Under Brochures, click on Informational.

  4. In the Brochures section to the right, click on the first brochure "Accent Box Informational Brochure".

  5. In the lower right of the dialog, click on Start Wizard.

  6. On the small Publisher dialog, click on OK.

  7. On the Personal Information dialog, click on Cancel.

  8. In the left side Brochure Wizard section, click on Next.

  9. Choose a color scheme and click on Next.

  10. Choose "Letter (8.5x11 in.), 3 panels" and click on Next.

  11. Choose No for the customer address and click on Next.

  12. Choose None for the form and click on Finish.

  13. On the menu bar, click on View|Hide Wizard.

Save your File and Begin Work

  1. On the menu bar, click on File|Save As... and save the file in your folder on the network drive using the file name teacher-concern-lastnamef.

    Ex. Stelchek-Concern-HernandezP

  2. Using your rough draft and the computer sample as a guide, fill out your brochure section by section changing the text and pictures as needed, deleting the unneeded frames, and adding frames as you need them.

Helpful Hints

  1. Use what you know about Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to figure things out in Publisher.

  2. Help your neighbors.

  3. To work with existing text and picture frames, editing tools will appear at the top of your screen below the Standard toolbar when you click on the object.

  4. To zoom in or zoom out to get a better view, click on the Zoom Out or Zoom In tools on the Standard toolbar.

  5. To remove a text frame, picture frame or another object, right click on the object and then choose Delete Object.

  6. To change or edit the appearance of text or pictures, use your right click or the formatting toolbar to make changes as needed.

  7. To add frames use the side bar tools below:

    Text Frame tool
    Table Tool
    WordArt Frame tool
    Picture Frame tool
    Clip Gallery tool
