LEAP

LEAP is a pull out program for the Gifted and Talented students. The acronym LEAP stands for Learning Enrichment Academic Program

In LEAP, the student will:

1) become aware of his/her own unique potential in order to develop these abilites for the betterment of self and society;

2) utilize higher level thinking skills to develop intellectual curiosity in critical, creative, and productive thinking;

3) understand and apply the problem-solvong process in a copperative group setting through analysis and evaluation of a real life situation; and,

4) develop advanced reference skills for using multiple concepts and resources in synthesizin and elaborate product.

Curriculum for the LEAP students;

1) provides advanced content that allows for flexible pacing and learner choices;

2) incorporates creativity, higher-level thinking, and problem solving opportunities; and

3) enriches a learning enviornment that is supportive of diverse learner needs and learning styles.
