
These are areas
we study in Third Grade:
Language Arts - cursive handwriting, verbs, adjectives, nouns,
pronouns, proper nouns, adverbs, and many techniques to have
fun with spelling words.
Reading - We do many activities to go along with our interesting
stories. We learn new vocabulary words by playing charades,
making picture dictionaries, and illustrating sentences. We
do art projects associated with our stories. We also have cassettes
to go along with most stories. Sometimes we act out the stories
with puppets or in real life.
Mathematics - multiplication, time and money, fractions, problem
solving, manipulatives, and geometry.
Social Studies - farms, the gazatteer, famous Americans, communities,
maps, graphs, charts, tables and time lines, and many more interesting
topics.
Science and Health - sound, simple machines, light, magnets.
