Dear Parent:
Due to today's recommendation from the Center for Disease Control and the Denton County Health Department, all Lewisville ISD schools will reopen on Thursday, May 7. Students who are unable to return this week due to our schools reopening will need to bring written documentation explaining their absences
Symptoms of the swine flu are similar to the regular seasonal flu. Swine flu symptoms include:
high fever of 100.5 or higher, severe headache, muscle and body aches, chills, fatigue, vomiting
and diarrhea. If your child has any of these symptoms, please call your child's doctor
immediately.
Our district’s top priority is the safety and welfare of our students and staff; and therefore
we are taking the Denton County Heath Department’s directives seriously. We recognize
that closing our schools will cause a hardship for our families; however, we want to
ensure our schools are safe and conducive learning environments.
University Interscholastic League (UIL) has suspended all events until May 11. The district is following UIL's protocol and suspending all district activities until May 11.
While this is a stressful time for our students, parents and staff, our district would like to extend its deepest appreciation for your cooperation during this time. Continue visiting our district website: www.LISD.net for updated information.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the district's Communications Office at 469.948.8152.

Students,
Would you like to get caught up on your school work?
Would you like to get your homework done at school?
If you get stuck on a math problem would you like to be able to ask someone immediately for help?
Are you failing and just can not get caught up?
We have a solution......
Next week the Griffin PRIDE Center will open on Thursday from 4:15-5:15. The PRIDE center will be located in the library and staffed with Griffin teachers. The PRIDE center will be open every Thursday for tutoring, help with assignments, a quiet place to finish homework, or use the computer to finish a class project.
Any student is welcome in the PRIDE center.
If transportation is an issue, GMS will run a late bus for any student needing a ride home. You must see Dr. Rossmann for a bus pass in order to ride.
Snacks will be provided or you can bring your own from the vending machine or school store.
If you have received a special invitation from Dr. Rossmann and a phone call from Mr.Kajs then you are required to come to the PRIDE center every Thursday until the next six weeks grading period.
The staff at Griffin is devoting extra time in order to accelerate your academic success. Please take this opportunity to help yourself. TAKE PRIDE IN YOURSELF and YOUR ACADEMIC SUCCESS.
