	FOREST VISTA ELEMENTARY COUNSELING OFFICE
	Help Encourage Learning Potential (HELP) is the LISD Guidance and Counseling department’s mission statement. I strive to accomplish this goal by being a support and a resource to the students, parents and staff of Forest Vista. I see each class several times a year for guidance lessons on topics dealing with safety, friendships, peer pressure reversal, making good choices, being responsible, dealing with bullies, and community service. I also get to know the students on a more individual basis through groups and individual counseling.
	In the fall of each year I lead parenting classes. I enjoy getting to know the parents through these classes and leading discussions on how we can effectively communicate with our children and give them the skills to be happy, responsible people.
	I want our children to feel great about being at school and to feel like an important part of our school so that they may learn to their greatest potential. Parents are welcome to contact me at any time to discuss their child. It is a pleasure to be a part of the Forest Vista family.
