Do you have a student between the ages of 13 and 17? Are they looking for volunteer hours? On Tuesday, Feb 26, come to the Forestwood PTA General Meeting at 7pm in the cafeteria and be introduced to Teen Court.

Teens between the ages of 13 and 17 or are still in high school, who attend LISD schools or reside in the greater Lewisville area are eligible to become volunteers in the program.  Volunteer positions available at Teen Court are: prosecuting and defense attorney, judge (requires special training), juror, bailiff, and court clerk. Most volunteers begin by serving as a juror and, if desired, can move on to other duties at their own pace.

It's a great chance to develop leadership skills. For further information, please contact Carol Kyer, Programs Chair at carolkyer@consultant.com.

It's Not Easy Being Green!
Campaign to keep Forestwood Green

We need your help! Our front 'garden' is most unattractive. The bushes are tall and unwelcoming. The flowers are dead or wilted. Is this what you want to see every time you drive up to Forestwood? We don't either.

Ms. Moss' 6th grade classes are raising money, asking for donations, looking for business or corporate sponsors and trying to get plants, shrubs and trees donated to make the front of our school look awesome and help improve the environment.

Upcoming Events - Be an Active Part of the Campaign to keep
Forestwood Green!

Friday, March 14th is GREEN DAY at school. Green day is where you wear green - as much green as possible: green hats, bandanas, shirts, pants, socks, shoes. (Remember, no hair or body parts can be green.) You will pay 25 cents for each piece of green clothing you wear. So WEAR green and help Forestwood GO Green!

Saturday, March 29th is FORESTWOOD'S GREEN FLING: This is an entertaining event where we will have a car wash for donations, a bounce house for a buck or two (donated by Space Walk of Flower Mound - thanks Katie), lemonade and cookies for sale and a Guitar Hero teacher challenge where you can challenge one of the talented teachers to a song of guitar hero for a small fee.

April 1st - 4th is ourBRICK DRIVE. If you have left over brick at your house that you thought you might use someday, well, this may just be 'that day'. We are going to add a walkway through our new landscape area and would like to use mixed brick that we collect. You will be able to drop off what you have before or after school this week.

 April 7th - 11th is PLANTING WEEK!

Please help with this project that will benefit all students and parents, the community and our environment. If you can donate plants, shrubs, money or more please contact:
Ms. Moss at Forestwood: (469)713-5972 ext. 2733 or mossdj@lisd.net

Thank you,

Natalee, Jordan, Kaninikaa and the rest of Ms. Moss' 4th period class
