FME Parent-Student Handbook
2007-2008

TEXTBOOKS

First and second grade students will be issued textbooks by their classroom teacher. Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will have textbooks issued to them by the Assistant Principal using a bar code scanning process.

Students and their parents/guardians will be responsible for the proper use and care of textbooks, will maintain book covers on all textbooks at all times, are responsible for stolen, lost, or damaged textbooks, and are required to pay the school for any replacements or fines. Unpaid fines for lost/damaged textbooks will result in students not being issued textbooks the following year. Fines are based on damage but may be $2.00–$5.00 for page damage or cover edge damage, $10.00 for binding or cover damage, and book replacement price for water damage or severe damage that results in books that cannot be redistributed.

Removing or defacing the scanning barcode will result in a $5.00 fine.
