Attendance Procedures for Parents
Please refer to the attendance page in your child’s Student Handbook
for complete rules and guidelines.
Important Tips:
When a student must be absent from school the parent should call the
attendance clerk on the morning of the absence.
Parents must follow up by sending a signed note and the student must
bring the note to the attendance clerk on the morning of their return to
school.
All absences will remain unexcused if the student fails to bring a
note within 3 days.
A parent may request homework assignments on the day of the
student’s absence if called in early.
Parents may pick up assignments
from the office by 2:30p.m.
Any time a student comes in late or leaves school early they MUST sign
in/out in the office. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
If a student needs to leave campus early for an appointment the parent
must come in and sign the student out. A picture ID is required.
Students may only leave with those individuals identified on the card.
If a student has a medical appointment that requires they miss part of
the school day they need to have some documentation from the Doctor’s
office which they bring back to the attendance office.
The state allows a
partial day absence such as this to be coded “medical” and it will not
count as an absence for that period.
An all day absence with a medical
note will be an excused absence.
