Important School Information
- Please click here for the Downing Safe and Civil Schools Annual Parent Survey. Safe and Civil schools is an LISD initiative to improve our district's schools. The Downing Safe and Civil Schools team will analyze the anonymous data that is gathered from students, parents, and faculty to develop processes that will make our school an even better place in the 2008-2009 school year.
- DOWNING YEARBOOKS ARE ALMOST HERE!! Your student will receive a flyer if they have a preordered yearbook reserved. It can be picked up in the big gym on Wednesday, May 28 between 8:00 – 8:35 a.m., or during lunch. Did you forget to order a yearbook? It's not too late! The yearbook staff will be selling extra yearbooks in the big gym May 28 at 8:00 and then in lunch periods until June 2 or until we run out. They will cost $45 with tax included, first come first served. Cash or Checks to DMS. There will also be plastic book protectors available for purchase for $5 each (tax included).

- The Legacy Garden of Downing Middle School
- The Downing Promise path has been re-named the Legacy Garden of Downing Middle School. The Goal is the same, but the message is a much broader one: serves as a place of encouragement for new students; direction for current students; and memoriam for exiting students. The Legacy Garden will be lined with a brick that is 4”x8”. Students are to inscribe the brick with a word or phrase of advice, encouragement, and/or wisdom to fellow and future students and/or a thank you to DMS faculty/administration (Click here for more information).
