The Degan Music program has a multifaceted approach to the learning of Music. In the younger grades, we do a lot of singing, moving and games that teach many skills at once. The children are also introduced to classical music for movement and enjoyment. In the older grades, the students are still singing, but are also learning to play instruments. The instruments help them to read rhythm patterns and notes, that helps in the reading of music. We also do a closer study of classical music and the composers. The main focus of the music program is to try to develop a love and understanding of music.
