COMPUTER TIPS FOR TEACHERS

What is a loopback? If you have your wireless turned on AND are also using a network wire (aka 'patch cable') then you are causing a loopback. This slows the system to a crawl and eventually will take the whole network down! You must not be using a network wire and wireless at the same time. Even if you think you are not hitting the network through wireless it must be turned OFF if you are using a network wire!

Update your virus definitions just right click on the blue ball and select "Update Now!" **you must have an active internet connection going before you update, or nothing will happen. There are lots of new nasties out there so take a moment to protect yourself! It really only takes a moment (unless it has been a long time since you did this, then it will take up to 5 minutes to update).

To unlock a keyboard you:
Open Control Panel : Accessibility Options: Uncheck sticky keys

L = 7
o= 0 (zero)
u = C (just turn the u on its side)
