The purpose of Student Council is to raise school pride and student awareness.  The Student Council is comprised of third, fourth, and fifth grade students.  Throughout the year, Student Council programs involve the entire student body.

FUNDRAISING PROJECTS
One Friday each month, the Student Council sells snacks after school. Snacks are sold by the office and the LEAP room.

In November, the Student Council sponsors a can food drive for CCA.  Each grade level is responsible for bringing a specific item.

In the spring, the Student Council holds an aluminum can drive in conjunction with Earth Day.  This allows students to recycle and celebrate our earth.  For Earth Day, each class is given caterpillars to raise to butterflies.  These butterflies are released by the entire school during the celebration.

Finally, the students participate in our annual "Battle of the Grades".  Grade levels compete against each other for one week to see who can bring in the most pennies.  In the past, over 1,000 dollars has been collected!

All money made from fundraisers is put back into the school. In past years, the Student Council has purchased an electronic piano for the music room, playground balls, and a digital camera.
 
 
School Pride

In October, the Student Council plans a week of activities to promote drug awareness.  The members visit each classroom and have the students complete a drug free pledge.

Members also create a float for the Lewisville High School Homecoming parade and show their Eagle Pride.  This year LHS students helped decorate our float!

In November, the Student Council sponsors Texas Recycles Day.  The members read a recycle pledge to the students and each student fills out  a pledge stating ways that they can reuse, reduce, and recycle.

The Student Council also serves beverages to visitors on Grandparent's Day.
