  What is the Mission Statement of Bridlewood Elementary School?
Our Mission Statement: "We, the faculty and staff of Bridlewood Elementary, dedicate ourselves to provide an educational foundation that nurtures integrity and fosters a love of learning."

  What is required for enrollment?
Birth Certificate, Social Security card, immunization record, withdraw form from previous school and proof of local residency.

  What can you tell me about the curriculum?
Our curriculum follows the guidelines set forth by the TEKS ( Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills). There is a committee that adopts the curriculum each year for our district. Each campus has an in depth curriculum guide for parental perusal.

  How many students are enrolled at Bridlewood?
Bridlewood currently has 778 students enrolled. The average class size is 19 students per classroom by district guidelines.

  Do we have an active volunteer program at our campus?
Yes, most definitely. PTA has a very active volunteer program in the classroom, office, surrounding grounds, etc. Many parents give generously of their time. We feel this is an important factor in your child's education.

  What are the areas that are bussed?
Students must live at least 2 miles from the school to be eligible for bus transportation. For more information please contact Durham Transportation at (972)-221-4557.

  Do we serve hot lunches?
Yes, our cafeteria provides a nutritionally balanced hot lunch each day. Lunch ($1.95) and breakfast ($1.00) tickets are available to purchase any school morning in the cafeteria in any dollar amount. Free/reduced applications for school meals are available in our school office. Find out more by

  Do we allow visitors at lunch time?
We would be happy to have visitors at lunch time. Please sign in and have your child include you in
his or her morning lunch count.

  Can I pay for my child's meals online?
Yes!   No more lost lunch money...Beginning April 25, 2005, parents may access their child's meal payment balance online and add money to the child's account using a Visa or MasterCard.

  How do we check students out for appointments?
Any students leaving campus during the school day would need to be signed out in our office. Only the person listed on the enrollment card would be able to sign your child out. For the protection of your child, a valid drivers license will be requested when signing out students.

  Do we have a nurse on campus?
Yes, we have a full time R.N. at Bridlewood.

  At what age can a child start school?
Students must be five years of age by September 1st of the year.

  If a child is late for school, what is the procedure?
Any student arriving after the bell should come to the office to check in before going to class.
