Valley Ridge Elementary School was built in 1996. The school strives to achieve the "Three A's:" Academic Excellence, Atmosphere and Active Parents. Valley Ridge Elementary was selected in 1998, and again in 2002, as an Exemplary school by the Texas Education Agency. Valley Ridge Elementary Students participate in a character program that encourages them to do the "3Rs--Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Do the Right Thing." Valley Ridge Elementary received Gold Performance Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency in 2008-09 for: Attendance (07-08); Commended on Reading/ELA, Writing Mathematics and Science; and Comparable Improvement - Mathematics.
