The Colony High School was built in 1986. The school was designated as a Recognized campus from 1996 through 1999 and was designated as an Exemplary school for the years 2000-2003. The Colony High School received Gold Performance Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency in 2005-06 for: AP/IB Results (2004-05); Recommended High School Program (Class of 2005); and Texas Success Initiative ELA.
