Since 1987, Owen Elementary School has been providing not only a rich academic environment but has also been cultivating the creative side of children. UIL Academic Teams, Student Council, O.W.E.N. TV Crew, Owen Sprinters Jogging Club, Bobcat Ropers Jump Rope Team and the Owen Honor Choir are just a few student programs found at Owen. Outstanding students are recognized through the Students of the Month program. The school also has many annual events including the Third Grade Marketplace, Second Grade City of Owenville and First Grade Rodeo. Owen Elementary is a school where every child can be a star! Owen Elementary received Gold Performance Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency in 2006-07 for: Commended on Mathematics, Writing and Science.
