Morningside Elementary School was built in 1993 and this year we are celebrating 14 years of academic excellence. The school broadcasts the morning news live to all classrooms each day. Morningside offers several unique programs including, but not limited to, theme based family nights, holiday craft nights, book buddies, Accelerated Reader, Student Council, Safety Patrol and Boy and Girl Scout programs. Morningside Elementary also has “Family Nights” for math and reading. The school recognizes students by giving them the Mighty Mustang “Pinkster” Award, Good Citizens of the Week, boy/girl Student of the Day, and a Star Class of the Week award. Morningside Elementary received Gold Performance Acknowledgements from the Texas Education Agency in 2006-07 for: Attendance (05-06); Commended on Reading/ELA; Commended on Writing; Commended on Mathematics; and Commended on Science. Go Mighty Mustangs!!
