McAuliffe Elementary School was built in 1987. We have recently celebrated our 20th year as an elementary campus in LISD. Here at McAuliffe we take great pride in the different awards and honors we’ve received. McAuliffe Elementary received Gold Performance Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency in 2006-07 for: Attendance (2005-06); and Commended on Reading/ELA, Mathematics, Writing and Science.
McAuliffe Elementary empowers students and challenges them to “make good choices” (school’s motto). Respect is a school-wide initiative being taught to students. Respect for self, others and property is learned in all grade-levels through academics and also extra-curricular and social activities. To support the academic success of our students, teachers offer tutoring in the mornings before school and/or in the afternoons. McAuliffe offers extensive programs and extra-curricular activities such as: Spanish Club, Science Club, International Club, Young Rembrandts, Reflections, Challenger Publishing, Wee Deliver, Great Expectations, Student Council, Open House, Family Math Night, Talent Show, Spaghetti Supper and our Annual Chili Cook-Off.
