Since 1987, Lamar Middle School has been a school focused on meeting the academic, social, emotional and physical needs of the middle school student. This is accomplished through academic teaming, an alternating block schedule, a range of academic classes from Special Education to LEAP, and a multitude of elective and activity choices. Recognition of students exhibiting their best in all areas occurs through the Lamar Leaders program. Lamar MS received Gold Performance Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency in 2006-07 for: Attendance (2005-06); Commended on Reading/ELA, Mathematics, Writing and Social Studies; and Comparable Improvement - Reading/ELA and Mathematics.
