Lakeview Middle School was built in 1989. The school has a "Team Inclusion Program" for selected members of the Special Education population. Rather than having students go to Content Mastery for help, or to be assigned to an Inclusion class, Lakeview assigns a Special Ed. teacher to each team to provide Inclusion services to the students on that team in their classes. The program has been presented at the middle school conference and has received recognition throughout the area. In the 2002-03 school year, Lakeview was recognized as one of 28 middle schools in the state as a Texas Pathfinder School for outstanding academic achievement. Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency in 2006-07 for Commended on Reading/ELA and Social Studies.
