Lakeland Elementary was the first Elementary School built west of I-35 in Lewisville. This makes it a longtime Lewisville landmark with a rich heritage and a personal connection to many area residents. The teaching staff at Lakeland is highly qualified to meet the needs of our diverse student body. They work closely together as a team and with their students and parents to achieve academic success. Lakeland also offers numerous opportunities for enrichment with an established choir program, Student Council, Chess Club, Knitting Club, and Learning Beyond the Bell after school program.

Lakeland is proud to be a uniform school with our students dressed for success in navy blue, white, and khaki uniforms. The Lakeland campus is also about to undergo a complete transformation. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2007, to build an entirely new school to replace the existing building. Because of construction, during the 2006-2007 and the 2007-2008 school years, Lakeland’s Kindergarten and First Grade classes will be conducted at the recently opened Lillie Jackson Early Childhood Center. Registration will still occur at Lakeland Elementary for all students KN-5th grade and bus services will be offered for those KN-1st grade students attending Lillie Jackson. Please contact the Lakeland office at (469) 713-5992 or access the campus website for more information.

Lakeland Elementary received Gold Performance Acknowledgments in 2006-07 for: Commended on Writing, Mathematics and Science; and Comparable Improvement - Mathematics.
