Heritage Elementary School was built in 1993. An additional wing with 10 new classrooms was added in 2007. The school features an outdoor classroom program. It utilizes over an acre of vine-covered elm and other native trees, flower gardens, vegetables and trees in an effort to teach students about nature and its impact on our past, present and future. Our TOH (Texas Our Heritage) has been recognized as a National Wildlife Federation Schoolyard Habitat site. Heritage Elementary was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2001. Heritage Elementary has Gold Performance Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency in 2006-07 for Attendance (05-06), and Commended on Reading/ELA, Writing, Mathematics and Science.

Our motto is "Heritage Hawks Soar to Great Heights" and we continue to maintain our Exemplary status.
