Hedrick Middle School was built in 1973. As a result of the teaming organization at Hedrick, the students' accomplishments and achievements are recognized on a regular basis. Ongoing recognition occurs, through the teams, for perfect attendance, Honor Roll and improved academic achievement and behavior. Students receive certificates of recognition and positive notes and phone calls home. All students have many opportunities to be an active part of school activities through the band, choir and athletic programs as well as being members of the Chess Club, National Junior Honor Society, Annual Staff, Student Council and the Fellowship of Christian Students. Hedrick MS received Gold Performance Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency in 2006-07 for: Attendance (2005-06); Commended on Reading; and Comparable Improvement - Reading/ELA.
