• Our Mission
The LISD Office of Grant Development endeavors to maximize funding opportunities for programs that meet the needs of LISD students and are aligned with campus and district goals and objectives.
• Assistance Provided
The Office of Grant Development serves as a clearinghouse for state, federal, and local funding opportunities. All parties interested in writing a discretionary grant must contact the Office of Grant Development and complete a Request to Develop a Grant Proposal form. The form must be signed by the principal or department director.
When a Request to Develop a Grant Proposal is received the Office of Grant Development will evaluate the request to determine if the potential grant is cost effective, aligned with and supports the District Improvement Plan, and does not conflict with LISD policies. Potential grant projects may not require:
- Matching funds from LISD
- Additional personnel beyond what the grant will fund (including additional associated benefits)
- Significant changes in job duties for current District personnel
- Endorsement of any business or product
The Office of Grant Development will recommend whether the grant should be pursued, in collaboration with the assistant superintendent of curriculum, instruction, and assessment services (CI&AS). Technical assistance is made available to grant applicants.
In general, LISD does not pursue discretionary grants for less than $50,000 due to the disproportionate time, expense, and legal liability associated with smaller grants. Grants for less than $50,000 may be pursued on a case-by-base basis upon the recommendation of district administration. LISD staff may apply directly for mini-grants (up to $1,000) through the Lewisville Education Foundation and the Meadows Foundation Charitable Schools program.
