Retired personnel will meet on April 17

The Lewisville Area Retired School Personnel Association will meet on April 17 at 9:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 1002 Fox Ave. in Lewisville. Dr. Jerry Roy, Superintendent of Schools, is the guest speaker. Call 972-965-1250 for more information.

Awards banquet tickets deadline is April 21

Contact your campus or department secretary before April 21 to request tickets to LISD's Recognition and Awards Banquet. More than 700 of the 1,200 available tickets have already been sold.

The banquet will be held on May 2 at 7 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency DFW. Click here for more information.

- Angel and Ellen Garza's (speech assessment, Special Education) daughter, Marcus HS graduate Stephanie Garza, was awarded a Statewide Food Service Association scholarship on April 2. She is one of 30 students in Texas to receive the award.

- Robin Shope (inclusion teacher, JJAEP) will have several more books published this year.

	LISD Council of PTAs holds annual Vendor Fair The LISD Council of PTAs will hold its annual Vendor Fair on April 19 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Killough LHS - North cafeteria. More than 70 LISD-approved vendors will display their wares to the public. The organization with the most attendees will win $100. 	Wedding bells are ringing - Liz Kagen (PPCD teacher, Hebron Valley ES) and David Press were married on March 19. - James and Karen Mann (ISS aide, Lakeview MS) announce the marriage of their son, James Mann, Jr., to Molly Vogel on April 5. - David and Melissa Wright (secretary, CIAS) announce the engagement of their daughter, Marcus High School graduate Caitlin Pearl Wright, to Michael Brandon Walker. An April 19 wedding is planned. - Calvin Gothard (P.E. teacher/coach, Hedrick MS) and Annette Zermeno are engaged. A July 26 wedding is planned.
