LISD Adult and Community Education is looking for committed teachers or professionals to teach classes during the spring semester at the Lina Milliken Education Center, 2103 Savage Ln. in Lewisville.
The department is accepting workshop and class proposals for the semester starting Feb. 18 and the deadline for proposing a topic is Nov. 30. Proposal forms are available at the Education Center, or e-mail Lee Ann Bandy and include "Course Proposal" in the subject line.
FMHS choir director recognized
Dr. Mark Rohwer, Flower Mound High School's director of choral activities, will represent Texas in the annual "Choral Director of Note" feature in the December/January issue of Choral Director magazine.
Tim Braun, a 1996 Marcus HS graduate and Child Nutrition staff member at Lewisville High School, recently attended the 2007 Special Olympics World Games in Shanghai, China. Tim participated in the golf event and placed sixth in his division. He is the son of retired Special Education teacher Debbie Braun.

Melody Barnhart (teacher, Flower Mound HS) recently lost her dad, Woodie Woodruff.
New grandbabies
- Bruce and Evelyn Campbell (ISS aide, Shadow Ridge MS) welcomed their first granddaughter, Jamie Long, on Sept. 21. Jamie's parents are Aaron and Shannon Sutton Long, a graduate of Lewisville HS.
- Cynda Wilson (counselor, The Colony HS) announces the birth of her first grandchild. Gabriel Jackson Urban arrived on Nov. 2.
- Jim and Karen Mann (ISS aide, Lakeview MS) are the very proud grandparents of Ryane Taylor Rush, born on Nov. 4. Their daughter, Kristie and her husband, Drew, are Ryane's happy parents.
Young love
Marcus HS graduates Ricky Jordan and Nicole Gober were married in November. Ricky is the son of Brenda Jordan (teacher, Lewisville HS).
Matthew Murdock (MHS '04) completed the Ford Florida Ironman competition on Nov. 3 in 13 hours, 13 minutes and was one of the top finishers in swimming. He is the son of Rob and Julie Murdock (teacher, Marcus HS).
