- The staff at Flower Mound Elementary raised $350 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day event when they paid $5 to wear jeans on three Tuesdays in September.
- Sandee Lyles' (nurse, Donald ES) poem, "Backyard Lifeline," is included in an anthology published by Water Forest Press titled Literary House Review.
- LaNita Fuller (drama teacher, Coyote Ridge ES) is the costume designer for the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" at Trietsch Memorial U.M. Church in Flower Mound.
- Sharlyn Elliott (reading teacher, DeLay MS) has been nominated for a D/FW Channel 11/21 Teachers Driving Success award. Sharlyn is recognized as one of our outstanding teachers who has made a difference in our community. Click here to learn more.
- Amanda McKnight (teacher, Briarhill MS) published an article in the Kappa Delta Pi Record titled "Stand Up."

- Matt Gallery (MHS '97) married Jennifer Ward on July 21. He is the son of Michael and Mary Gallery (Special Ed. inclusion teacher, McAuliffe ES).
- Stephanie Phillips, daughter of Betty Phillips (Special Ed. bridging aide, Lewisville HS), will marry Michael Thompson on Oct. 28.
Baby buggies
- Kimberly and Jason Poe (teacher, Marcus HS) greeted their second child, Carter Drew Poe, on June 18.
- John and Lisa Searles (teacher, Central ES) proudly announce the birth of their baby girl, Emily Searles, on Sept. 21.
- Debbie Ferraro (secretary, Downing MS) welcomed her first grandson, Noah Patrick Feldpausch, on Sept. 25.
Outstanding!
Ben Hanna, a 2005 graduate of Flower Mound HS and a sophomore majoring in aerospace engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, is a cooperative intern working on rover and satellite projects at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the robotics arm of NASA, in Pasadena, CA. He is the son of proud parents Jon and Becky Hanna (teacher, Prairie Trail ES).

- Cheryl Babb (teacher, Lewisville HS) lost her mother on Sept. 14.
- The father of Dianne Mayfield (supervisor, Payroll) passed away on Sept. 24.
- Former LISD industrial arts teacher Horace Trietsch passed away on Sept. 25. Horace taught in Lewisville school for more than 25 years.
- Eleanor Hotchkiss, mother of Karen Smith ( ESL aide, Hedrick ES), passed away on Sept. 27.
