Cyber Safety Week

Interested in learning how to protect your child in a virtual world? Then come hear Sgt. James Willingham give cyber safety tips to parents tonight, March 11, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Bolin Administrative Center, 1565 W. Main St. in Lewisville. Willingham brings a wealth of experience as a forensic computer analyst/felony criminal investigator specializing in trapping online child predators.

Employee of the Year finalists announced

Request for help

Tammy Fry (math teacher, Lakeview MS) and her family lost their home and belongings in an electrical fire last week. Tammy and her husband, Dave, have three sons who are 9, 6 and 3 months old.

Employees wishing to donate a personal day to Tammy can e-mail Lakeview Middle School's secretary, Debbie Davis.

Donations of cash, clothing and household items are being collected by Pat Wood, Coyote Ridge Elementary tech facilitator, and Shannon Widney, a second-grade teacher at Valley Ridge Elementary. For more information, please contact Pat or Shannon.

A giving spirit

The students of Peters Colony Elementary collected $1,474.75 for Pennies for Patients, a program benefiting The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Since 1994, millions of dollars have been raised in pennies and other spare change by more than 10 million students throughout the country.

- Emily Babb, daughter of Murphy and Cheryl Babb (French teacher, Lewisville HS), will be inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at North Central Texas College.

- Erica White, daughter of Rick and Carmen White (secretary, Huffines MS), was named to the president's list at Galveston College.

- Brittany Ward-Shield, daughter of John and Lynda Shield (teacher, Central ES), was named UIL District 6-5A's most valuable player for basketball and has earned a full scholarship to St. Edward's University in Austin.

Wedding bells

- KC Bunnell (teacher, McAuliffe ES) and Aaron Richardson are engaged and will marry in the fall. Aaron is the son of Theresa Richardson (content mastery aide, Marcus HS).

- Ave Marie Rodriguez (speech therapist, Camey ES) is engaged to Bryan Perry and they will marry on Aug. 2.

- Kevin Dinsmore, son of Kathy Dinsmore (Special Education aide, Briarhill MS), will marry Brittany Jones on Sept. 13. Kevin and Brittany are 2001 Marcus HS graduates.

- Sharon Rosendahl (teacher, Prairie Trail ES) and Dan Rosendahl (teacher, Marcus HS) welcomed their adopted son, Aiden Daniel Rosendahl, on Feb. 14. Aiden was born on Dec. 28, 2007.

- Danny and Carrie Cooper (teacher, Flower Mound ES) greeted their second child, Cole Cooper, on March 4.

- Michelle and Eric Miles (teacher / coach, Durham MS) greeted their son, David Edward Miles, on March 5.

- Marcy Dombkowski (teacher, Peters Colony ES) lost her brother-in-law, Kieth Dombkowski, on Feb. 24.

- Renee Bagbey (tech facilitator, Peters Colony ES) lost her grandfather, John Kitchell, on March 1.

- Sharon Tolbin (teacher, Polser ES) lost her father, Mac McCrary, on March 1.

- Karen Mann (ISS aide, Lakeview MS) lost her granddaughter, Ryane Taylor, on Feb. 20.
