Campus Support Services (CSS)
Mission: To foster an environment of lifelong learning for LISD students, through provision of educational, social and recreational programs and services after the regular school day and during the summer.
Goal: To support students’ social interaction and academic achievement with the following programs:
Extended School Day - students in grades K-5 stay at school until 6:30 p.m. for lessons that focus on their interests and their developmental needs.   Activities include time for play, homework and creative growth through music, arts, books and sports.  Last year more than 2,100 children were served daily at 40 campuses in this fee-based enrichment program.  
After School Enrichment programs - more than 10,000 students in grades K-5 participate in fee-based, vendor provided after school programs.  Vendors include Abrakadoodle, Ed-U-Kids, Fred Schulze Photography, Friday Nite Live, Mad Science, Metropolitan Charm and Modeling, Mindscale Learning, My Body Fitness, North Dallas KidStage, Red Tiger Karate,  TGA Golf, USA Chess, Young Rembrandts, and Zumbatomic. 
 
LISD Summer Day Camp (formerly Summer’s Cool) - state licensed program for students entering grades 1-6 enjoy field trips, hot lunch and snacks, Olympic style challenge games, swimming, arts and crafts, reading curriculum, and special events featuring performance arts and science labs.  Camps are fee-based and more than 1,800 students attend camp for 8 weeks at Coyote Ridge, Vickery and Wellington.
 
Summer mini camps – more than 700 children attend fee-based classes, including offerings in Legos, media arts, photography, video game creation, science, cooking, and adapted programs.
 
Driver Education – Experienced LISD teachers provide in-class and driving instruction to LISD students at Flower Mound, Hebron, Lewisville and Marcus high schools during the fall, winter and spring.
 
The CSS department also provides monthly testing in English or Spanish for the official GED certificate at LHS Harmon.  Fee-based GED Test Preparation classes and grant-based Adult Basic Education classes are held throughout the school year at the Lewisville Learning Center.
CSS sponsors unique annual events that include the “Exceptional Student School Performance” awards ceremony for students receiving district Special Education services and the GED Graduation Ceremony.
