Lewisville ISD Winter Weather Information
As winter approaches, we want to take time to remind parents that Lewisville ISD (LISD) is constantly monitoring inclement weather situations. In the event of bad weather, we must consider the safety of all 53,000 students in our 127-square mile district when making decisions about school closures. LISD administrators will determine school cancellations based on the safety of all students district-wide.
If school is cancelled to due a weather-related event, parents will be notified via multiple platforms including LISD’s parent callout system (Skylert), websites – including all campus websites – mobile application, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. For the most instantaneous notification, follow us on Twitter. Parents can also tune in to their local news and radio stations for this information.
Please be aware that some forms of notification may be slightly delayed due to the demands of mass messaging, but know that we are diligently working to keep you informed as quickly as possible.
School closing decisions are reported to the following television channels: 4 (KDFW), 5 (KXAS), 8 (WFAA), 11 (KTVT), 23 (KUVN) and 39 (KXTX), along with radio stations WBAP-AM (820), KWRD-FM (100.7), KHKS-FM (106.1), KLIF-AM (570), KPLX-FM (99.5), KLRD-AM (1080) and KVIL-FM (103.7).
As always, LISD will keep parents, students and community members informed with the most up-to-date information through these communication platforms. LISD thanks you in advance for your patience in the event of a winter weather situation.
