The Colony High School Stadium Aug. 23 Update:

To keep our community informed of The Colony High School’s Tommy Briggs-Cougar Stadium’s delayed opening, the district is making adjustments to the light poles based upon an engineering firm’s recommendation to ensure the poles ability to withstand 90-mile per hour winds. The recommendation was presented to LISD on Friday, Aug. 13 at which time the district immediately scheduled the light pole vendor to make the adjustments during the week of Aug. 23. The Aug. 13 engineer’s report stemmed from a July 6 manufacturer’s notice. In the meantime, The Colony High School’s Aug. 27 varsity game has been relocated to the Hebron High School Hawk Stadium at 7 p.m. For questions, call the Office of Public Information at 469.948.8152.

LEWISVILLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S TAX RATE; and THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.2223 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $12.80.
